Dereck & Beverly Joubert
Great Plains is a new member of the safari fraternity, but it is fast becoming a force to be reckoned with, especially because of its proactive conservation strategy. Started in 2007 by Colin Bell, former Wilderness Safaris CEO, Emmy Award-winning documentary filmmakers Beverly and Dereck Joubert, and several eco-minded financiers, it has already opened, or partnered with, camps in Botswana (Selinda, Zarafa), Kenya (Ol Donyo Lodge, Mara Plains), and Tanzania (Lukula).
