Dereck & Beverly Joubert

Great Plains is a new member of the safari fraternity, but it is fast becoming a force to be reckoned with, especially because of its proactive conservation strategy. Started in 2007 by Colin Bell,  former Wilderness Safaris CEO, Emmy Award-winning documentary filmmakers Beverly and Dereck Joubert, and several eco-minded financiers, it has already opened, or partnered with, camps in Botswana (Selinda, Zarafa), Kenya (Ol Donyo Lodge, Mara Plains), and Tanzania (Lukula). Watch this space for upcoming projects in Rwanda, India, and the Seychelles.
