The Maldives

A recent traveler to one of the five-star resorts in the Maldives suggested that instead of importing bottled water from abroad, they use the perfectly okay local  brand. That could help reduce the level of plastic on the island and thus the possibility of the kind of refuse seen washed up on one Maldive island. It’s the kind of change that all resorts, whether on a beach or far inland, whether in Africa or on an island in the Pacific and Indian oceans, could make quite simply. Good idea!
